SENIOR General Min Aung Hlaing under¬lined that war veterans have to be mindful of their words and actions so as not to harm Our Three Main National Causes as national duties. The Special Conference (2025) of the Myan¬mar War Veterans Organization took place at its headquarters in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, with an address by Patron of the MWVO Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. The Senior General deliv¬ered a speech on the occasion. He said: The Myanmar War Veterans Organization is com¬posed of former members of the Tatmadaw and maintains regu¬lar contact with the people. As such, it must serve as a bridge between the Tatmadaw and the people. In carrying out this role, war veterans have to be mind¬ful of their words and actions so as not to harm Our Three Main National Causes — our national duties. It is also important to al¬ways remember that the words and behaviour of individuals di¬rectly affect not only the organ-ization one belongs to but also the Tatmadaw, which is closely connected to it.The Myanmar War Veterans Organization was constituted with the central headquarters, 21 regional and state supervi¬sory committees and 308 town¬ship-level organizations to serve the war veteran measures na¬tionwide. The organization is implementing four objectives and seven future tasks and participates in nation-building endeavours, local security and public interest protection as a reserved force of the Tatmadaw. For the public to understand the genuine intentions of the Tat¬madaw towards the nation and its people, it is necessary not only for the Tatmadaw alone to act, but also to effectively utilize the organizational strength of exist¬ing veteran associations among the people as a driving force. To successfully implement the “People’s Militia Strategy” es¬tablished by the State, continued efforts must be made to strength¬en the solid unity between the Tatmadaw and the people. The government prepares to hold a free and fair multipar¬ty democratic general election in December this year. In the post-COVID-19 recovery period, Myanmar has faced numerous challenges, including internal and external threats, the impacts of Typhoon Yagi and floods in recent years, and the Manda¬lay earthquake. These events have caused significant losses and hardships for the nation. However, if all unite and work together in solidarity, the country will be able to overcome these difficulties and recover as quickly as possible. As national peace and food security are of great importance to the country, the government is implementing two national ob¬jectives. If the country is peaceful and stable, and the people can live and work in comfort and se¬curity, then social and economic development will inevitably fol¬low. Therefore, war veterans, in addition to fulfilling individual duties, have to be constantly vig¬ilant and attentive to the national interest. The Senior General urged war veterans to consistently preserve the fine traditions of Tatmadaw as well as the prestige of the War Veterans Organiza¬tion, uphold the Our Three Main National Causes, stand firmly as a strong reserve force of the Tat¬madaw and actively participate in defence, security, and public welfare activities of the nation. Moreover, those members have to faithfully implement the sev¬en designated future work pro¬grammes and five main sectors as good soldiers and strive to become a strong bridge between the people and the Tatmadaw.Patron of Myanmar War Veterans Organization Senior General Min Aung Hlaing cor¬dially greeted MWVO members. Also, present at the cere¬mony were SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Command¬er-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Union-level dignitaries, Chief of the Gener¬al Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Of¬fice of the Commander-in-Chief, Chairman of Myanmar War Vet¬erans Organization Central Ex¬ecutive Committee General Khin Aung Myint (Retd) and mem¬bers, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, chairmen of war veteran organization superviso¬ry committees and delegates and officials. — MNA/TTASalient points from the speech delivered by the Senior General at the special conference of MWVO1. If all unite and work together in solidarity, the country will be able to overcome difficulties and recover as quickly as possible.2. It is necessary not only for the Tatmadaw alone to act, but also to effectively utilize the organiza¬tional strength of existing veteran associations among the people as a driving force for the public to understand Tatmadaw’s genuine intentions towards the nation and its people.3. MWVO members need to always remember that their words and behaviour directly affect not only the organization one belongs to but also the Tatmadaw, which is closely connected to it.
